Bristol alternative folk group Elder Island have added an extra date to their Dublin Button Factory show, now performing on October 20th and October 21st, 2021.
The tour announcements follows the release of their sophomore album Swimming Static, which explores with poignancy our disposition towards nostalgia and reflection. Snippets of childhood recollections and falling in love are overlaid with dreamy ruminations on time and memory.
The project follows their 2019 debut LP The Omnitone Collection, their self-titled debut EP in 2014 and 2016's Seeds in Sand EP.
The multi-talented outfit comprises Katy Sargent on vocals, cello, bass; Luke Thornton on bass, drums, guitar, keys and David Havard on guitar, keys, bass and drums.
Alongside the album release, the band have worked with long-time friend and director Nic Kane to capture the ‘Making Of’ process of the new album.

A mix of studio footage and talking heads, the 16-minute short film explores the band’s processes in depth, tracing songs from early handwritten notes to studio jams and finished pieces. With a shining DIY ethos, they highlight the creative freedom their independence has allowed them.
