After chatting with Hot Press’s Lucy O’Toole earlier in the day at the Hot Press Chat Room, Biig Piig took the stage with a stellar set.
A storm started rolling in right as Biig Piig's set was about to start and people made a b-line towards the nearest tent in hopes of a dry respite. Right before she took the stage though, someone yelled, “Look there’s a rainbow!” Mother Nature knew she had to pull out all the stops for this brilliant homegrown act.
Funnily enough, moments later, Biig Piig (real name Jess Smyth) walked on stage wearing a rain poncho.
Emitting cool girl vibes from start to finish, Biig Piig laid out infectious beats and chill vocals with her first few songs. ‘Get a Real Job’ had people eyes closed, heads back, bopping along just like the singer herself. She was in her own world and brought every single one of the crowd with her.

A few songs in, she finally took a breather and sized up the crowd. “There’s a few of ya,” she joked with a slightly incredulous laugh. Those that came in to escape the fleeting storm were here to stay. This cool girl plucked any bad vibes from the crowd and had everyone on their feet. By the time we left the tent, the sun was shining bright again.
