The Glaswegian singer-songwriter electrified an adoring crowd with a strong, if predictable, set.
It might seem like Gerry Cinnamon crept up to Main Stage status overnight, but the Glaswegian star has built up an impressive following - as evidenced by a packed the Main Stage area this evening.
While his acoustic guitar-heavy interpretation of singalong Britpop is certainly not for everyone, Gerry has fast become one of Scotland's most hotly tipped stars. And with melodies that aspire after the best of Oasis, its easier to understand why. While the bold yet inclusive working class ethos at the heart of his work has clearly resulted in an ever-growing fanbase, Gerry has had his fair share of detractors - largely stating that his guitar/harmonica combo results into a discography that blends into itself with no real definition.
However, the one-trick-pony accusations mean nothing to the hoards who turned out to see him this afternoon. He shined on standouts like 'Sometimes', 'Dark Days' and 'Canter' - even stopping mid-track at one point to call out a member of the audience who's behaviour he had a problem with, before continuing exactly where he left off.

It's easy to dismiss the Glaswegian singer-songwriter, but as the sprawling crowds yelling back every word demonstrated tonight, there's no denying that he's a star on the rise.
Stay tuned for even more coverage of Electric Picnic across the weekend.
