Kitt Philippa did not disappoint with their signature moody melodies and soothing piano.
Pints were abundant on the hills of the Body&Soul stage and people sipped and swayed along to some more brilliant music. Tucked beneath the trees was Kitt Philippa and their piano. Their set floated back and forth between moments of stunning vocals and impressive piano runs. Whether cooing "hallalujahs" across what felt like seven octaves, but probably was only one or two, or gliding up and down the keys, each moment was one to savour.
The high point - quite literally - was during 'Lion' which showcased the powerful range and uniqueness of Philippa's voice. The heart thumping bridge was constructed with marching-band-esque drums and poured out into what can only be described as the classically-trained artist's equivalent of a bass drop.
KP truly poured their heart and soul into every single song. When playing the piano, it wasn't just their fingers that danced along the keys, their whole body moved with each note. Dramatic? Perhaps. But when you sing with that much rawness, it can only be natural for a performance like that.
