Otherkin broke more than their fair share of hearts this month, after announcing that they were calling it a day. However, the band clearly intend to go out with a bang - as evidenced by this afternoon's passionate, high-energy set in the Electric Arena. With a set like this one, it's hard to believe that the Choice-nominated band are calling it quits.

Frontman Luke Reilly proved once again to be one of the most authentic frontman's in modern rock, with his loud and crazed stage presence and famed tendency to create havoc. The tent was thronged with adoring fans, hoping to get a chance to see the group for one of the last times ever. Reilly's onstage hijinks were as unpredictable ever, as he decided to climb across stage equipment and attempt to balance on the crowd barrier.

With their fearlessly riotous, guitar-heavy sound, Otherkin were in high spirits despite acknowledging that the end was fast approaching. "This is one of our last ever gigs," Reilly shouted to the crowd. "So this should be a celebration! It's a funeral!"

Fan favourites like 'On & On' helped create Reilly's intended chaotic energy - as he cried out for more mosh pits and people on shoulders. Although the atmosphere was ultimately bittersweet, the set proved that Otherkin will at least be remembered as one of the most fearlessly bold bands in modern Irish rock.
