The Limerick outfit confirmed the hype with an outstanding set on Sunday evening.
Taking to Body & Soul's Main Stage in the fading light of Sunday evening, Limerick natives whenyoung thrilled their ever-growing crowds with a stellar set that proved to be just as assured and bold as their debut album, Reasons To Dream. Released earlier this summer, the project established the group as one of the most hotly tipped Irish acts of recent years.
With a riotous, guitar-heavy set, centred around Aoife Power's stunning vocals, whenyoung's Electric Picnic set proved that the hype surrounding the group is more than warranted. Kitted out in her signature pantsuit and killer choker, Aoife brought a sharp charisma to her role as frontwoman. The close-knit band continued to showcase their strong ear for melody, with a rhythmic force that stirred both the die-hard fans and straddlers in the crowd.

The set drew heavily from whenyoung's superb debut, but there was plenty of appeal for those wandering into the natural amphitheatre too. While it was thrilling to hear their sound in the relatively intimate setting of the Body & Soul stage, this set proved that we don't have long to wait before whenyoung are headlining major festival's in their own right.
