‘Darkness Of You’ is available to stream now.
2018 was a whirlwind for Electric Shore.
The band released their debut single ‘Too Different’ in January, and by September they were performing at Electric Picnic.
And these Meath-based indie-rockers – comprised of Ryan Hill (vocals and guitar), Adam Rooney (backing vocals and bass) and Ronan Hynes (drums) – are only getting started.
Just a few weeks into 2019, Electric Shore have released a brand new single, ‘Darkness Of You’.
The bandmates first met in primary school, but their friendship evolved when they started practising instruments together in 2013. “We didn’t know how to play,” reflects Adam, “but we learned off each other and that makes us what we are.”
Indeed, Adam notes that collaboration is at the heart of everything Electric Shore create: “I like to think we’re three songwriters, rather than one front-person coming up with all the ideas.”

Naturally, then, this new song came to them as all the others do — in the midst of one of their regular jam sessions. “That song probably morphed out of 20 ideas into one,” says Adam. “The lyrics could come from any of us – whatever sticks, that’s what we go with.”
It was lead vocalist Hill who penned the lyrics for their latest track, a dark yet exhilarating tune he says is about “someone who needs somebody in their life, but knows they’re not healthy for them.”
