The artist is "very excited" to return with her first release since September 2020.
After almost a year's hiatus, ELLYD is back with her new single, 'Speak Slowly', due for release on 23 July.
The Dublin-native wrote and produced the song in her home studio, before sending it to London-based engineer Sefi Carmel (Bowie, Massive Attack, Bruno Mars), who gave the song its final mix and master.
The song is catchy, filled with melodic and lyrical hooks, and driven along by power chords on the electric guitar.
"'Speak Slowly' is about communication, lack of communication, the problems that arise from that and the frustration felt from it," explains ELLYD.

"Initially when I wrote the hook for the song, I kind of felt like it was going to be a slow-ish tune. But when I started production, it quickly became clear what it was meant to be."
The artist is "excited to be back". Her last release, 'On My Way', received national radio air-play and reached number one on the iTunes chart.
