The legendary musician praised the band’s new album on his radio show
Fontaines D.C. received high praise from music icon Elton John, as he branded them “the best band out there” right now.
The legendary singer spoke to lead singer Grian Chatten about the Dublin band’s new album on his Apple podcast Rocket Hour.
“For me,” he said, “and I’ve watch you grow from album to album, have been the band that have progressed musically, lyrically, live, every single album.

“For me, you’re the best band out there at the moment, having watched you at Glastonbury, having heard the new album. You’ve just grown every album and you’ve seemed to have found your feet with this album.”
Chatten explained that he doesn’t feel like “chasing it with another record”, and that the band is on a “comfortable footing.”
Elton continued to praise Romance, Fontaines’ widely acclaimed new album, saying that it “breaks you through to the act that you always promised to be from a popularity standpoint and the music is just so great,” he said.
He added that the record is “going to stay around for a long, long time”
