“I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery so far," Sir Elton said in a statement posted to Instagram.
Sir Elton John has revealed he's been on the mend following a "severe eye infection" that has left his vision impaired.
The 77-year-old British music icon shared the news in an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, 3 September.

"Over the summer, I've been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye," the singer commented. "I am healing, but it's an extremely slow process nd it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.

"I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.
“I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery so far."
Numerous stars replied to the post with well wishes for the 'Rocketman' singer, including tennis legend Billie Jean King, pop star Chappell Roan and fashion designer Donatella Versace.
King said: "Sending our love and support your way. Feel better soon, friend."
"Take your time and recover, Elton. We’ll be here waiting for your return when you’re healthy and ready,” Versace commented, with Roan offering, "We love you".
The news comes after it was announced that Sir Elton's documentary film Elton John: Never Too Late would have its European premiere at this year's BFI London Film Festival.
Elton, who was made a member of the Order of Companions of Honour at a ceremony in November 2021, is known for his endless stream of classic hits, including 'Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting', 'I'm Still Standing' and 'Your Song'. In 2019, he was portrayed by actor Taron Egerton in the blockbuster biopic about his life, Rocketman.
