Westlife fans are waking up to a treat this morning with the announcement of a new special guest...
Last Monday, Westlife announced that they will perform their first-ever show at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork on Friday 28 August 2020. Today, the band confirm that Emeli Sandé will join them as their special guest.
This will be Sandé's first Irish date since she performed at Croke Park with Michael Bublé last summer. Her new album Real Life is available now.
Shane, Nicky, Mark, and Kian confirmed the news in Cork on Monday at a media conference.
It will be the first time in the band’s 20-year career that Westlife have headlined Páirc Uí Chaoimh Stadium and follows the phenomenal success of their comeback which has seen the nation fall in love with the Irish superstars all over again.
Westlife fever captured Ireland and the UK this summer with the release of hit new music and their fastest-selling tour of all time. This summer’s ‘Twenty Tour’ which took them across 27 cities and 13 countries included two sold out shows at Croke Park, Dublin for 150,000 fans.
Next summer's show will be a new kind of special, according to the band. “Headlining Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the first time ever is a dream come true for all of us," they said in a statement. "We’re incredibly excited for a show which will be different and more spectacular than anything we’ve ever done before."
