Catch Gary O'Neill's intimate performance live via the Hot Press Instagram tonight at 7pm - supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
We are delighted to announce a special performance tonight from Kilkenny-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gary O'Neill as part of the Hot Press Y&E Series!
Taught by his father at the age of 14, O'Neill picked up acoustic guitar, going on to become an entirely self-taught musician — making his disarming capacity for lush soundscapes all the more impressive...
A three song suite of intimate and introspective singer-songwriter folk, Gary's debut EP To Those I've Missed, showcased the artist's strikingly evocative ability to bring his soundscapes to life, with reflective confessional lyrics and impressive finger-picked acoustic guitar. Deftly interrogating love, loss, and relationships, the record delves into the emotional effects of our relationships with those that we care for and admire. Lead single 'Petals' caught our eye here at Hot Press, with its well honed and nostalgic lyrical ode to family.
We weren't the only ones either... with O Neill's tracks seeing radio play from various stations across the nation, including Tomorrow Radio, LMFM, FLIRT FM, Raidio Na Life and RTE 2XM. Since moving a large portion of his music offline, the singer-songwriter is gearing up for new musical territory — and judging by O'Neill's already remarkable discography, the trajectory of his artistic progression is bound to be enrapturing...
Gary O'Neill's live set tonight at 7pm is set to be an intimate and stripped-down affair, as he performs a stunning collection of his ornately penned and composed tracks.
