This Friday, The Vintage Room in The Workman's club is hosting a gig that will showcase some of Ireland's most exciting music and Spoken Word.
Emmet O'Brien and The Poet Geoff are two of Ireland's best Spoken Word artists right now and they will be taking the stage accompanied with music by the incredibly talented Greg Clifford.
Emmet O'Brien is only 20 years old but has accomplished more than most artists in just one year. He came onto the scene in March 2017, releasing his first book 'A perspective from the corrupt mind of the youth,' where he discusses everything taboo from substance abuse to religion and everything in-between related to the good old session. He is also one of the first poets to be published in District magazines newsletter which came out recently as well as having three videos on YouTube with nearly a thousand views between them. Best known for his video 'The North Side," O'Brien is also an event organiser, starting his poetry and music night 'vybrations' which launched in June 2017. The event was a huge success and was brought to the attention of other artist such as Colm Keegan and Hazel Hogan who later performed at it.
Recently O'Brien teamed up with The Poet Geoff to write a play which is due to be out by the end of the year but until then, catch them this Friday in The Workmans.
