Ahead of the release of her debut EP 'Leoness', Dublin's R&B darling has dropped a new track.
Erica Cody is bringing her fresh take on 90's influenced R&B to a stellar new song 'Where U Really From'. An anthem for confidence and self-love in the face of racism and discrimination, Cody has said of the song: "Growing up in Ireland, I found it difficult for people to accept my image, especially my skin tone and hair. I would regularly let people touch my hair so I wouldn’t come across as ‘rude’ or to avoid confrontation. As I grew older, I realised just because I’ve darker skin and bigger hair, it is simply not an open invitation to push boundaries by touching my hair or the need to know my history - I’m black. I’m Irish. I am me."
Erica Cody's hotly anticipated EP Leoness will debut on April 12th and is currently available for pre-order. In celebration of the EP, Cody will be performing an special intimate show on April 11th at The Grand Social- tickets available now. In keeping with the spirit of 'Where U Really From' Erica Cody has also announced her forthcoming Don’t Touch My Hair (DTMH) campaign. Rolling out around the time of the EP's release, the campaign features a new line of DTMH merch.
