Shortlisted finalists announced for ERP Electric Picnic Art Competition.
The European Recycling Platform in conjunction with Electric Picnic has announced the shortlist for their Electric Art competition. Budding artists across the country have been busy submitting a range of innovative designs of cultural iconic structures made out of electrical waste, to highlight the importance of electronic recycling. The winners of the three categories, local, national and international, will bring their designs to life under the guidance of esteemed artist, Christy Collard and their structures will then take up residence along the esteemed Arts Trail at Electric Picnic.
ERP, Ireland’s only pan-European compliance scheme for electrical and electronic waste and waste battery recycling is proud to announce that six Irish designers have made it to the shortlist.
The entries include:
• An Electric Angel by Aly McNeill
• Honey Bee Haven by Jane Groves and
Andy Thompson
• The Molly Malone by Vincent Naughton
• The Electric Currach by Aidan Corcoran
• Goat Mountain by Donnacha Cahill
• Shandon Bells by Rob Ireson
and Niamh Lenihan

A gallery of the winning shortlist designs will be presented online at electricpicnic.ie which includes an image of the electrical waste design as well as a brief history of the iconic structure. The winning designers will receive two VIP tickets to Electric Picnic, which will be held from September 2 - 4 at Stradbally, Co. Laois.
