Eve Belle releases two surprise singles 'Smithereens', 'Homesick'
Belle is signed to Ireland's biggest independent label, Rubyworks Records.
Donegal singer-songwriter Eve Belle is known for chronicling her sorrows in sweeping alt-pop tones. On Friday, Belle released two surprise singles, which see the singer move in a slightly different direction for 2020. The artist took to Twitter to tell fans: "smithereens is a song about missing your chance. homesick is a song about losing all of the places you call home. both mean a lot to me."
2019 saw Belle release her second, critically acclaimed EP The Fine Line Between Brave and Stupid. 'Smithereens' showcases a decidedly sunnier instrumental for the singer. Punchy percussion and pop programming dominate the track. 'Homesick' is a little darker, and it uses stark minimalism to bring Belle's voice front and centre.
