Those visiting the Marlay Park musical festivities in the coming weeks are in for a treat as the hot weather is expected to last until next weekend. The area is set to host a string of famous faces with concerts for Queen and Bruno Mars, as well as the Longitude Festival.
Festival Republic's representative Melvin Benn told press in a conference this afternoon that extra precautions were due to take place because of the warm conditions.
He encourages festival goers to bring their own supply of sunscreen and water, but ensured there would be extra water taps provided on site. He also appealed for attendees to respect local residences and communities and to avail of public transport. Marathon Travel are operating a shuttle bus from the City Center to the Park that can be prebooked online.
He continued explaining that last year's issues with entry queues would be improved upon this year. Festival goers had complained at being separated from their group of friends due to the queuing system. Benn explained this year there would be marked meeting points where people will have the chance to regroup.
Superintendent Ian Lackey explained how their would be strict safety regimes, and asked attendants to be ready for inspections. There is to be a zero tolerance procedure in terms of alcohol entering the premises, however explained there would be outlets available within the park for people to buy alcoholic beverages. Large backpacks will also not be permitted.

He also said how early queuing will not be facilitated and that any concert goer who turns up before gates open will be turned away.
Theresa Langan, from the Dún Laoghaire - Rathdown county council, spoke about how the committee had worked alongside 15 residential associations to ensure as minimal disruption to the area as possible. Residents have offered their full support to the going ahead of the events. Profits made by the council from the event are expected to be invested into the upkeeping of the park and local amenities.
Melvin Benn promises an excellent time for all attendees, noting the big names that have been billed. In particular, he noted Solange's set during Longitude, who is set to put on "one hell of a show".
