The reissue of the 1991 album will feature previously unreleased music.
American musician Daniel Johnston’s 1991 studio album Artistic Vice will be reissued as an expanded edition, featuring a second LP’s worth of previously unreleased songs, outtakes, and rehearsals. Among the previously unheard tracks by Daniel Johnston and the Eye Band is ‘All Good Children Got to Die’.
Artistic Vice Collector’s Edition, remastered by Johnston’s friend and collaborator Mark Kramer is out October 18.
The artist garnered a following during the '80s by passing out tapes of his music while working in Texas at a McDonald's. Johnston's status gathered momentum when Nirvana's Kurt Cobain was spotted wearing a t-shirt showing the art piece "Jeremiah the Innocent" from his 1983 cassette album Hi, How Are You.
Johnston died in 2019 at the age of 58, and is regarded as a significant artist in the lo-fi and alternative music scenes.
