Extra tickets to the Spice Girls Croke Park tour stop on 24 May are set to be released on Friday 29 March at 9am. The first batch went on sale in November and were snatched up in only minutes.
The performance will be Croke Park’s first by a girl group and marks the first Irish Spice Girls gig since 1998. The group itself has not performed as a unit since the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012.
The Spice World tour will feature original Spice Girls members Mel B, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Halliwell. Victoria Beckham is not slated to perform with her former bandmates, though Beckham did declare her support for the group via Instagram in November:
“…I won't be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time! X vb #spicegirls #friendshipneverends.”
Originally brought together in 1994, the Spice Girls have become iconic representatives of the “girl power” movement, releasing empowering singles like ‘Wannabe’ and classic bops like ‘Spice Up Your Life.’ The group currently holds the world records for best-selling girl group single with ‘Wannabe’ and best-selling girl group album with ‘Spice.’
