It's the second video to be released from Fangclub's blistering new True Love EP, which came out earlier this summer.
The Dublin 3-piece have been active in 2018, touring with the likes of The Cribs, Milk Teeth and Nervus, after their self-titled album performed well this time last year, peaking at number five in the Irish charts.
Having written ‘High’ while on tour with The Cribs, front man Stephen King credits the time spent with them as providing the lyrical direction for this track, saying: “I think they influenced my writing on this from a visceral stand point. It’s a little more 70s in part; we tried to use old vintage amps, mics and pedals.”
The video was shot and produced in just six hours by Irish director Nathan Barlow, and captures the band’s fiery alternative rock aesthetic.
Speaking to the sound of the song itself, King added: “We had vocals going through a rotary speaker which added an incredible and dreamlike theme to the song… We made it quite a pop song too. I don’t know why I seem to relish in that kind of hellish happy juxtaposition.”
