"Recording it was great. Great craic. We were all just delighted to be making a good little record We didn’t set out to make a great or classic album or anything like that. It just sort of happened.
"There was pressure on us to make a hit marketable record of course but we just did our thing really. You know at one stage the record company made us take a track called ‘I Am A God’ off the album because it wasn’t suitable for the American market. You know pathetic stuff like that. There were huge ructions over that. But we put it on the album, called it ‘Fiction’. It’s basically the same song. We always took things they said lightly, and we went with it. We went with it because these were people who were supposed to know what they were doing.
