Contemporary Folk Duo Fellow Pynins will be tracing their heritage with a series of gigs at Castlerock, Belfast and Ballydehob across the weekend.
Fellow Pynins are a folk outfit from Oregon. The pair are returning to Ireland following their last tour in which they uncovered their own Irish roots. They’ll be playing new songs, tracks from their LP, plus local and traditional celtic songs with a twist.
The duo have announced a string of dates for August which will see them play cities including London, Cambridge and Maidenhead before heading to Scotland and Ireland.
Fellow Pynins, comprised of Dani Aubert and Ian Van Ornum, previously performed as a 7-piece folk orchestra called Patchy Sanders, which allowed them to tour and hone in on their song-writing skills.
They released their first album as a duo, Hunter & the Hunted, in 2016. The LP received critical acclaim from the likes of BBC, fRoots Magazine, and Country Music People. Lisa Dunn of BBC praised the duo, saying: “Fellow Pynins will transport you into their haunting and beguiling world of love tales and spine-tingling harmonies…They will have you traveling far and wide to hear them again.”
Their first tour through Europe in 2016 brought them from Spain to Ireland— hitting small towns, far-reaching islands, and the greater metropolitan areas. Fellow Pynins travelled with a nanny and Eowyn, their 5-year-old budding fiddler daughter.

Fellow Pynins’ spellbinding music employs the sounds of the mandolin, banjo, guitar, bouzouki and their voices in harmony to tell the stories of this human existence. They will be touring through the UK and Ireland, playing 26 concerts in August, once again collecting lesser known traditional songs and gracing the stages from Cambridge Folk Festival to the mystical island of Iona.
