Band members Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo have created their own signature Jazzmaster guitars, available from July 1.
It's going to be quite the year for Sonic Youth, with a gig at All Tomorrow's Parties in the UK, a Vicar Street show on December 6, a new record (The Eternal), and now their own custom-made brand of Fender guitars.
The Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo signature Jazzmaster guitars will be on sale from July 1, and each guitar comes with a custom sticker sheet and a 24-page indie zine largely designed and laid out by Ranaldo himself, with set-lists, photos, tech info and more.
The guitars have been designed to replicate Moore and Ranaldo's own Fender Jazzmaster guitars which they've individually customised over the years by stripping them of extranous controls, leaving just a three-way switch and volume knob.
