As part of our special feature, David Kitt reflects on the magic of festivals...
David Kitt
The best thing about playing festivals is that you’re tapping into that energy of people getting a bit looser than they would on a regular Friday or Saturday night. I’ve done my research in the field. That energy comes from dance music, and there’s always been a big association between that world and the more ecstatic, recreational world.
At a festival, you're trying to create moments that people wake up the next day still thinking about, and it stays with them for years to come.
I performed my New Jackson set at Another Love Story last year, and it almost feels like a house party. There’s so much lovely attention to detail, great food and so many great people. You can kind of go anywhere without a schedule and you’re going to encounter incredible music, or find your new favourite band. I even met my partner there – so it has a really special place in my heart.
