Ahead of Gurriers' All Together Now and Beyond The Pale sets this summer, lead vocalist Dan Hoff shares his festival memories...
Dan Hoff
Gurriers
A standout festival memory is seeing Tame Impala in a tent at Electric Picnic in 2015. It was right before he blew up, and he was playing songs from Lonerism. Everyone was having a great time. The crowd was one of the weirdest I had ever experienced. There was a guy in a toga right beside me – it was like Ancient Rome in there.
We played All Together Now a couple of years ago in a small tent at The Well, and all of our friends came. We’re looking forward to making a weekend out of it this year– it’ll be nice to come back and play on a bigger stage. It’s easy to walk around and everyone is just happy to be there.
I remember it was sunny when we went years ago, which always helps. In all honesty, I actually shouldn’t have even performed at that festival, because I got a concussion that same week. But hey – I’m fine, you know? I’m still here!
Gurriers play All Together Now and Beyond The Pale this summer. They've also been announced as special guests for Inhaler at St Anne's Park (May 30) and KNEECAP at Fairview Park (June 19).
