Combining serated guitar riffs, sinister/sweet vocals, soaring strings, lo-fi electronica and a rampant rhythm section, Irish quintet Alligator’s debut Fighting And Screaming EP succeeds in setting the band apart from the plethora of half arsed guitar bands currently orbiting the scene. This is not your archetypal demo fodder – it’s tightly written, precisely executed and with a distinctive and accomplished band sound. One to watch out for, methinks.
