Irish folk music legend Finbar Furey has shared his latest single ‘Kitty’ from his upcoming album Moments In Time, which is set for release on 29 September.

“Shane MacGowan asked me to sing 'Kitty' for his 60th birthday event in the National Concert Hall Dublin in 2018,” said Furey on his version of the folk classic.  “It was one of his mother's favourite traditional Irish songs. It's a beautiful song which I love singing, and when I added it to my concert setlist it always got an amazing reaction from the audience.”

Moments in Time will feature a collection of Finbar’s own compositions as well as some well-known traditional songs like ‘Kitty’, ‘The Rocks Of Bawn’ and ‘Slieve Gallen Braes’.

The album shows Furey “looking back vagaries of life”, completing the album with another timeless Irish classic in ‘The Parting Glass’.

Furey, who turns 77 upon the release of Moments In Time,  has decided to call time on touring and performing live. After being on the road for over 55 years the artist feels it’s  “the right time to stop and devote more time to his family, friends and to the golf course!”

However, the veteran musician says he will still be busy recording and writing music.
