Music rights data company Blokur has published its findings relating to the performance of songwriters on various streaming platforms in 2020. It has revealed that the top songwriter on Spotify is FINNEAS. The 23-year-old is probably best known for his collaboration with his GRAMMY award-winning sister Billie Eilish.

Blokur's songwriter charts calculate the success of songs on streaming charts along with the percentage of each song the contenders are credited with. FINNEAS is joined by familiar names like XXXTENTACION, Ed Sheeran, Juice WRLD, and sister Billie Eilish in the top 5 songwriters' chart. He has also claimed the top spot on the non-artist songwriter Spotify chart.

In the past year, FINNEAS has co-written and co-produced tracks with Demi Lovato, Celeste, Halsey, Justin Bieber, and Benny Blanco. He is credited with writing 50% of Eilish's songs. Together the pair have written the songs for Eilish's second album, Happier Than Ever, due for release at the end of this month. FINNEAS is also credited as the producer for this upcoming record. The songwriter is signed to a global publishing deal with Kobalt.

In February it was announced that he would score his first film The Fallout. The movie is Megan Park's directorial debut and follows three teenagers in the aftermath of a high school tragedy. Peymon Maskan, music superior for the film, told Variety "Finneas brought a level of empathy to the characters that could only come from a composer who is from the same generation."

The film will star Jenna Ortega, Maddie Ziegler, Shailene Woodley, Julie Bowen, and John Ortiz. As of yet, it has no release date.
