Five Star, formed in 1983, were often compared to The Jackson 5 due to their outfits and dance routines.
They released their debut album Luxury of Life in 1985, while their sophomore album, 1986's Silk and Steel, hit No.1 in the UK Official Albums Chart.
Between 1985 and 1988, Five Star released four top-20 albums and 15 top-40 singles in the UK charts. They also won a BRIT Award for Best British Group in 1987.
Pearson made a series of TV appearances throughout the 2000s. He placed third on The All Star Talent Show in September 2006, and starred in BBC's Celebrity Scissorhands in 2008, where celebrities cut people's hair to raise money for BBC's Children in Need.
