Following the release of their latest single, 'Heaven is Here', Florence + The Machine shared another Autumn de Wilde-directed visual – wherein Welch presents an ethereal, almost primal, dance number.

The London rock outfit made their long-awaited return in February with 'King', a pulsing track that tackles Welch's shifting idea of femininity. The group's second single this year is far more atmospheric but similarly venting with lyrics like "Every song I ever wrote became an escape rope tied around my neck to pull me up to heaven". With almost no instrumentation, the single allows for Welch's harmonies to come to the fore.

Welch said of the track: "'Heaven is Here' was the first song I wrote in lockdown after an extended period of not being able to get to the studio. I wanted to make something monstrous. And this clamour of joy, fury and grief was the first thing that came out…"

In the same post, the singer announced that contemporary dance was a guiding force for the offering, which has subsequently taken centre stage in the new visual.

Welch is seen among a group of women all outfitted in flowing dresses. Together they perform an eerie dance as Welch screams the lyrics to the camera.

The video was shot last November in Kyiv, Ukraine. Following the video's release, Welch revealed two of the featured dancers are currently sheltering in the city, facing the ongoing invasion from Russia.

"To my brave and beautiful sisters Maryne and Anastasiia,” she wrote on Twitter. “I love you. I wish I could put my arms around you.”

With two singles already released, fans of the outfit can presume a full-length album may be in the works. Following their new releases, the group is slated to headline a number of European festival sets this summer including Norway's Øya, Finland's Flow and Madrid's Mad Cool.
