Adding to the Complete Edition of their 2022 album Dance Fever, Florence + the Machine drop the new single 'Mermaids'
Sharing their new single 'Mermaids' via Polydor Records, the rock and indie band Florence + the Machine have captured the enthralled attention of the online folk, alternative, and neo-soul scenes.
Apart of the new "Complete Edition" of the 2022 album Dance Fever, the single's lyrics are reminiscent of the Hans Christian Andersen's original story The Little Mermaid, calling upon imagery like "razor blades all in your feet" and "you crawled from the sea to break that sailor's heart."
Blending traditional warning stories of mermaids with a soft, desperate, and bloodied hunger, Florence + the Machine create an enrapturing tale with haunting vocals, forewarning trumpets, and the command to dance to the dangerous beat of the mermaid's call.

Dance Fever dropped last year. Since the collection's initial release, the band has also released a new version of 'Morning Elvis' featuring the American singer-songwriter Ethel Cain. They've also done a Yellowjackets season two cover of the song 'Just a Girl' from the album Tragic Doubt by No Doubt.
The single also comes out after Florence + The Machine announced that Florence had been nominated in by The Ivors Academy in the category of Songwriter of the Year. 'King' was also nominated in the category of Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
Now, the band is about to go on the road performing at summer festivals and other venues to celebrate it. They even have a few Ireland dates, playing at Musgrave Park in Cork on June 22nd, Malahide Castle in Dublin on June 27th, and Ormeau Park in Belfast on June 28th.
