American DJ and electronic music producer extraordinaire Flying Lotus has finally announced the long awaited follow up to his 2014 album You’re Dead. Titled Flamagra, the project has a massive feature list including Anderson .Paak, Thundercat, George Clinton, Little Dragon, Tierra Whack, Denzel Curry, and David Lynch, who appears on the album’s first single ‘Fire is Coming.’ The track features a spoken word passage by the acclaimed director, set to an ambient, increasingly dark and tortured soundscape.

The accompanying video – Directed by Flying Lotus himself, and David Firth of Salad Fingers fame – features a pack of children in wolf costumes who gather around the warped face of Lynch – which is enclosed within the throat of a wolf – as it tells the story of a young boy answering an anonymous phone call.

It’s about as off the rails as you could expect from two artists as eccentric as Lotus and Lynch, but – as usual – it’s all executed in such a gracefully and fascinatingly disturbing way that one can’t help but be intrigued.
