Eclectic artist Shamir will play a Dublin show at the Workman’s Club on October 8th, as part of their Homo Anxietatum Tour.
The Las Vegas native recently released their bittersweet second single ‘Our Song’ off their imminent album Homo Anxietatem, which lands on August 18th.
'Our Song' follows 'Oversized Sweater' and ‘Crime’ (featured in HBO's Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York). "It took about three months to write this song, which is the longest it's ever taken me to write a song, " said Shamir on their latest track.
"The music video is a love letter to my band. Grant Pavol and Rhea Freed are the only reason I still play live. I wanted the video to focus on the three of us in a band”.
The album was recorded and produced by Hoost, aka Justin Tailor, in London. After a spell of acclaimed heavy rock and industrial-tinged records, the non-binary artist has switched to subdued and soaring alt-pop with their upcoming release.

The now Philadelphia-based artist has previously played shows with Le Tigre, Courtney Barnett, Troye Sivan and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. They have additionally collaborated with the likes of Rina Sawayama and Mac DeMarco.
The multifaceted Shamir has appeared in TV series Dear White People and Tuca & Bertie, while also publishing the book But I'm a Painter and creating their own record label Accidental Popstar Records.
Shamir's art has been described as a “synthesis of the full spectrum of human emotion; sensual, furious, yearning, joyful and yet tethered together by a very distinct style”.
