As part of her tour for her solo album Tides, Niamh Dunne will play at venues like The Greenroom in Dingle and the Workman's Club in Dublin in June
On April 28th, the title track of folk and fiddle artist Niamh Dunne's 2022 album Tides is dropping as a single. It comes with the announcement that she's going on tour, performing across Ireland.
The album Tides is Niamh's first solo project in over a decade and her first complete volume of work entirely written by her. Divided into two parts, half of the album is inspired by traditional Irish songs while the other half is inspired by Niamh's own singer-songwriter style and life.
The more personal tracks draw from her personal experiences, taking the listener along for an introspective dive into her relationship with feminism, history, family and personal connections.
The single 'Tides' specifically features the Irish folk act Karan Casey, Niamh's longtime friend and collaborator. Taking on the function and form of a lullaby, it's an especially emotionally intimate track that Niamh wrote. 'Tides' pays homage to her mother, recalling fond childhood memories of the two of them reading stories together.

The rest of the album draws from her extensive career as a musician, like her roots as a part of the Traveller family The Dunnes and her recent years writing with artists like Foy Vance and Ed Sheeran.
With stops like The Greenroom in Dingle, Rostrevor Folk Club in Down, The Workman's Club Vintage Room in Dublin, and more, she'll be accompanied on tour by the button accordion player Seán Óg Graham.
