The intimate show comes ahead of their European, UK and Ireland tour
Irish post-punk band Fontaines D.C. have announced a surprise intimate gig in New York for May 8.
The band will be playing for an audience of 1000 at Brooklyn’s legendary Warsaw venue on a one-night-only show, marking their first gig since the announcement of their fourth studio album Romance, due for release on August 23.
The show also follows the announcement of their ROMANCE European and Ireland tours set to kick off in Lisbon, Portugal on November 1, for which the English rock band Wunderhorse will join Fontaines D.C. as special guests.
The tour will include Fontaines D.C.’s biggest hometown show to date, set to take place at 3Arena on December 6, after a string of summer festival dates including Glastonbury and Leeds festival.

The band recently released ‘Starburster’, the lead single for their upcoming record Romance, described in a statement as Fontaines D.C.'s “most ambitious” album yet.
Discussing the LP's title, bass player Conor Deegan said: “We’ve always had this sense of idealism and romance.”
“Each album gets further away from observing that through the lens of Ireland, as directly as Dogrel," he reflected. "The second album is about that detachment, and the third is about Irishness dislocated in the diaspora. Now we look to where and what else there is to be romantic about.”
