O'Connell appears on the album's lead single, 'I Wanna Go With Dignity'.
Peter Perrett’s upcoming album will feature an array of special guests including Johnny Marr, Bobby Gillespie, Dream Wife guitarist Alice Go, and Fontaines D.C.’s Carlos O’Connell.
Perrett’s sons, guitarist Jamie, who also handled production, and bassist Peter Jr., will also both play on the album.
The Only Ones' frontman's latest endeavour will be a 20-song double album.
Titled The Cleansing, the LP will concern themes surrounding ageing, after Perrett turned 72 this April.
The album will also tackle issues of addiction and social media, with the artist saying that "I know some of the subject matter is death, suicide and depression, but I feel there is an uplifting atmosphere to the album, because I’m obviously enjoying recognising what is going on around me".
