Grian Chatten has previously shared his admiration for the American singer’s music.
Fontaines D.C. have performed a cover of Lana Del Rey’s 2023 hit single ‘Say Yes To Heaven’ in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.
In a previous interview with NME, frontman Grian Chatten had expressed his admiration for the American singer, saying that his band “could do a really a really good tune” with her.
“Her music leans into an era of cinema that I love,” he said at the time, “and she writes in a way where people can find stories in her music.”

The original track was recorded by Lana Del Rey back in 2013, and was originally supposed to feature on her third studio album Ultraviolence. Various leaks of the song were released on social media over the years, before the singer officially put it out last year.
Fontaines’ D.C. 's track ‘In The Modern World’, hailing from their latest and widely acclaimed album Romance, is largely considered to have been influenced by Lana Del Rey’s signature sound.
In August, the record was named Hot Press's Album of the Month – scoring a nine-star review, before going on to debut at No.2 on both the Irish and UK charts.
Most recently, the Dublin band announced a major show in Manchester's Wythenshawe Park on Friday, August 15, 2025, with special guests KNEECAP and English Teacher. Tickets are set to go on sale this Friday, October 4 at 9am.
