The new Fontaines D.C. track follows up on first taster ‘Jackie Down The Line’, which arrived last month.
Dublin post-punk rockers Fontaines D.C. are gearing up to release their third studio album Skinty Fia on April 22nd, with new single 'I Love You' landing this Thursday as a taster of the finished project.
‘I Love You’ is the song the band gave a live debut to at their Alexandra Palace show late last year.
The band announced the news yesterday, Valentine’s Day (14th February), by posting a short teaser on social media.

The Grammy-nominated band also performed the track at their recent BRITs week show at The Dome, Tufnell Park.
Produced by Dan Carey, new album Skinty Fia follows on from last year’s A Hero’s Death. The title is an Irish phrase that translates to English as “the damnation of the deer”.
'Skinty' also happens to be the name of Fontaines D.C.'s drummer Tom Coll's newly launched label, Skinty Records, through which he released a compilation of traditional Irish music, Goitse A Thaisce, last year. The logo for Skinty Records features a deer – or a 'fia' in Irish.
A press release explains that the “Irish giant deer is an extinct species and the band’s thoughts on Irish identity are central to Skinty Fia”.
Last month's new single 'Jackie Down The Line' received its US tv debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The live performance was filmed at EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney) in London, and directed by Hugh Mulhern, who also directed the track's official music video.
The BIMM Dublin graduates' sophomore album picked up a Best Rock/Alternative Album nomination at the 2021 Grammy Awards, as well as nods at the Ivor Novello Awards, the Brit Awards and the Choice Music Prize. In 2021, they also released Live at Kilmainham Gaol.
