Fontaines D.C. have won The Album Award at last night's Rolling Stone UK Awards 2024 for their latest album Romance. 

Guitarist Carlos O'Connell picked up the award from Jordan Stephens of Rizzle Kicks at London's Camden Roundhouse, saying: “Thank you very much. Thanks from all of us, the other boys are somewhere else.

He went on to comment, "Free Palestine...Fuck Netanyahu and fuck Zionism".

New Order accepted the Icon Award from Blur bassist Alex James, which was given to the Manchester band in recognition of their decades-long career.

Chic leader Nile Rodgers won the Global Icon Award, which he accepted from Duran Duran singer Simon LeBon, for his over 50-year career.

Mercury Prize 2024 winners English Teacher won the Breakthrough Award, while former Mercury Prize winners Ezra Collective took home the Group Award.

The Artist Award for the best British or Irish act of the year went to Yannis And The Yaw, the solo project of Foals singer Yannis Philippakis, who edged out brat star Charli XCX.

The Song Of The Year Award went to Chase And Status and Stormzy for 'Backbone', while pop duo Confidence Man picked up the Live Act Award from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Bimini Bon Boulash.
