Watch the Grammy-nominated Dublin band's performance below.
Last night, Fontaines D.C. continued their path to international stardom, with a performance of the title track from their acclaimed second album A Hero’s Death on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The performance was filmed in London at The Auld Shillelagh pub and directed by Samuel Taylor.
The Dublin band's appearance on the popular US talk show arrives on the heels of their Best Rock Album nomination at the 2021 Grammy Awards, and follows recent UK TV performances on Later… with Jools Holland and Soccer AM.
"It is an album that recklessly tears down the sheltering sky," Will Russell wrote in his review of A Hero's Death for Hot Press last eyar. "It hacks the televised minds of a soul-sucked citizenry fed on a vomit of advertising platitudes. Reminiscent of The Clash, Fontaines D.C. have planted a defiant flag around which to rally. 'I was not born into this world, to do another man’s bidding,' sings Chatten, nor does he 'want to belong to anyone'."
