But Here We Are is due to drop June 2nd via Roswell Records/Columbia Records.
But Here We Are, the Foo Fighters upcoming album, is going to be dedicated to the band’s late drummer, Taylor Hawkins, and frontman Dave Grohl’s mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, both of whom passed away in 2022.
Set to drop June 2nd via Roswell Records/Columbia Records, this will be the band’s first release since the sudden passing of Hawkins.
Morning Breath Inc.- the graphic arts studio based in Brooklyn that designed the new album’s physical packaging- took to Instagram to reveal the album's design and unveil the dedication that reads: “For Virginia and Taylor”.
Captioning the post, Morning Breath Inc. wrote, “It’s always an honour to work with [Foo Fighters]. This is the design for their latest album But Here We Are. Definitely a new turn for us as we explored minimalism and new techniques printing white on white.”

Most recently, Foo Fighters released the album’s second single, ‘Under You’, on May 17th. A free global streaming event in support of the album was announced alongside the single’s drop. The stream, Foo Fighters: Preparing Music For Concerts, is set to kick off at 8pm IST (Irish Summer Time) via streaming platform Veeps.
As well as performances from the rock legends, the stream is set to include behind-the-scenes footage recorded at the band’s own 606 Studios.
A press release for the upcoming album has described the record as “a brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year… a testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family. Courageous, damaged and unflinchingly authentic.”
In January of this year, the band confirmed to fans that they would continue to make music following the sudden and tragic passing of Taylor Hawkins, whilst on tour in Colombia. Although the identity of the rock outfit’s new drummer has not yet been revealed, Pearl Jam’s Matt Cameron and son of Queen’s Roger Taylor, Rufus Taylor have both denied claims that they are involved.
