Irish acts For Those I Love and Fontaines D.C. are among the nominees for the Ivor Novello Awards 2021 – announced today. Harry Styles and writing partner Kid Harpoon lead the nominations with three nods across two categories, while Arlo Parks, Lewis Capaldi, Celeste are also among the big-name nominees.
For Those I Love's 'Top Scheme', from his self-titled debut album, has been nominated for Best Contemporary Song. He'll be up against Future Utopia feat. Dave & Es Devlin ('Children Of The Internet'), Ashnikko ('Daisy'), Pa Salieu feat. Mahalia ('Energy'), and Rachel Chinouriri ('Give Me A Reason').
Fontaines D.C., meanwhile, have been nominated for Best Album, for their acclaimed A Hero's Death – alongside Lianne La Havas' self-titled album, Pa Salieu's Send The To Coventry, Laura Marling's Song For Our Daughter, and Tom Misch + Yussef Dayes' What Kinda Music.
Edinburgh electronic artist Blanck Mass was nominated in the Best Original Film Score, for his work on Irish film Calm With Horses.
