Just five weeks out from its opening, the Bulmers Forbidden Fruit Festival 2019 has announced its stage breakdown. An all-new stage presented by District Magazine has also been revealed for this year’s event. The festival will take place at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham from June 1-3.
Featuring artists at the top of their game like Skepta, Mura Masa, Elbow, Danny Brown, Paul Kalkbrenner, Jon Hopkins, Saint Sister, First Aid Kit, Laurent Garnier, Earl Sweatshirt, Peggy Gou, RY X, Julien Baker, Kojaque, Mahalia and more, this upcoming Forbidden Fruit festival is gearing up to be one of the biggest yet. Hosted on the grounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art and kicking off the summer festival season, the Forbidden Fruit festival has become a bastion of artistic fun in its eight years of performances, food and lively after-parties.
District Magazine’s new stage, Someplace Else, will play host to an array of artists throughout the weekend.
“As fans, we’ve been in attendance at every edition of Bulmers Forbidden Fruit since its inception in 2011,” District Magazine Editor Eric Davidson says of the stage. “Three years ago, District Magazine became media partners with the festival, arriving on site every year since to interview and photograph the artists on the innovative line-up and host a series of after-parties around the city. This year we’ve been invited to curate and host a brand new stage at the festival.
“District Magazine presents Someplace Else Stage will be in-keeping with Forbidden Fruit’s eclectic approach to line up curation - focusing on left of field electronica, indie, weirdo pop, and hip hop. Someplace Else will be a breeding ground for the artists you’ll see on the main stage next year. The place where you’ll see them in an intimate setting for one of the last times.”
