Ireland's own Francie Conway's newest single in collaboration with Vivienne Boucherat and Chris White voices support for Ukrainians in the face of ongoing crisis.
When Irish singer-songwriter Francie Conway received a photo of a demolished Ukrainian apartment, wherein everything was destroyed except for a guitar, he was inspired to create a song that would find a seam of hope in the face of appalling devastation.
His drive to make a statement about what was happening in Ukraine was cemented by the an edition of The Late Late Show which was dedicated to funding those carrying out relief efforts, assisting people affected by the brutality of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. As a Ukrainian guest declared, “Together, we are stronger.” Francie had a title for his song.
Conway’s ‘'Together We Are Stronger'’ offers confirmation that – even in our darkest hours – music can be a messenger for hope. Released May 6 via Sunfish Music London, the song features Vivienne Boucherat and Chris White of the Zombies and was worked on in collaboration with Swiss music writer, producer and musician Dom Torche, as well as Moving Hearts’ Matt Kelleghan.
The dedication and passion behind the song’s creation is captured in the music, uplifting choral voices accompanying Conway’s hopeful lyricism and vocals which evoke an image of "Joining hands across our land."
In the ‘70s, Francie Conway was part of the Kerry band Clutch, before moving to Amsterdam and releasing a number of successful singles. He returned to Ireland to join The Fureys. He sings on a Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame-inspired record by White, ‘Something I Heard,’ off The Chris White Experience which was released following The Zombies’ induction into the Hall of Fame.
Conway has always had a penchant for creating music that reflects on crucial crises.

In 2019, Conway wrote a story for Hot Press about his track ‘One For Europe,’ written in response to the shaky relationship which seemed to be developing among European democratic nations, in the context of Brexit. He expresses a love for Europe began early in his life, as a musician and was nurtured by his travels into what he describes as a “love affair with Europe.” That track also involved a collaboration with Zombies’ singer-songwriters Boucherat and White, and features the same illustration of a dove as a symbol of hope on its cover.
Remaining authentic to the roots of the song, 'Together We Are Stronger' was recorded in Ukraine by Alexandra Lisnyak from The Voice of Ukraine and a music video, due for release in June, is currently filming in Ukraine.
