Since Ocean's definitive album channel ORANGE in 2012 we've been left in the lurch, tapping our feet in impatience waiting for another release.
According to James Blake and Chance The Rapper, Ocean's upcoming album will be worth all the wait.
The long-awaited follow up LP will have a lot of critical ears listening in on it to see what Ocean has been crafting for the last 4 years. Ocean has been on a radio silence himself over these years divulging absolutely nothing. However those who've worked intimately with the hip-hop artist are singing his high praises and adding to the infuriating momentum that circulates Ocean's elusive upcoming album.
Speaking to Complex, Chance The Rapper sympathised with Oceans fans in their wait and their state of unknown; "No-one is really able to find Frank when Frank goes away, literally no-one, not just publications,” he said. “I know he’s away making a masterpiece. I think that Frank is very, very focused on his catalogue. Anything that you hear him on that’s a feature was recorded a long time ago… I don’t think Frank is working on anyone’s stuff except for his own.” Chance is one of the lucky ones that's been let in to sample the infamous album and frankly states it as 'amazing'.
Backing up this opinion is The Colour of Anything singer James Blake. Ocean, who contributed heavily to the writing credits of Blake's latest work, has also allowed Blake the privileged listen to his unreleased LP. Blake teased to The Rolling Stone that Ocean's new work sounds even 'better' that 2012's channel ORANGE. “His newer music… It’s better. You grow, you improve, you nail a new message to the board. He’s had time to mature. It’s really cool to watch.”
With all this buildup becoming more and more unbearable, we now ask kindly for Mr. Ocean to emerge from the woodwork immediately...please.
