We’d also like to say, “Hello, very nice to meet you!” to [link]nytimes.com/interactive/arts/music/pressplay.html?_r=1&[/link] who are streaming Tired Pony, Oh Land, Sidi Touré, Wesley Stace, Jonathan Rice, Califone, The Horse’s Ha, KT Tunstall, Tuung and Aoife O’Donovan – “pronounced ‘EEE-fah’” they helpfully tells us – in all their respective glories.
We weren’t sure at first but Free Music Friday has decided now that it’s firmly in favour of the 1975. Clinching the deal is the fab acoustic download session they recorded last week for NPR.

The same Tiny Desk Concert series also features a set from folky husband ‘n’ wife duo Shovels & Rope.

Grimes, The Deftones and Lux all weave their way into Bassnectar’s ecletic as fuck Immersive Music Mixtape Side One.

Former Duke Special personages Liela Moss and Toby Butler unveil their new outfit, Roman Remains, with a [link]dropify.com/romainremains/songs/this-stone-is-starting-to-bleed[/link] freebie that requires your Facebook co-operation in return.
To Louth next, for two sombre tracks from Drogheda-based singer/songwriter Annie Powderly. Recorded at Four Winds recording studio, the songs feature musical accompaniment from Martin Shields and Jamie Carolan, who also handled production duties. Check out 'Ode To You' and 'Next To Me' below.
Johnny Flynn, he of The Sussex Wit fame, has a free retrospective six-tracker which begs the question, “Why isn’t he living in mansion-esque rock star opulence?”
Also new from the Noise Trade stable is the sampler trailing October’s Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit in bleeptastic Asheville, North Carolina. It’s a good ‘un too with Zola Jesus, Half-Japanese, Gary Numan, Ulrich Schauss and PANTyRAiD among those donating tunes.

They’d also like to introduce you to Heidi Feek, a young Nashville lady who’s been favourably compared to the likes of Chris Isaak, Patsy Cline and Lana Del Rey.
This week’s second Noise Trade sampler comes courtesy of those lovely Paste Magazine people who include Beachwood Sparks, The Growlers, Sebadoh, Son Lux and Jordan Klassen on their Fall Pre(View) 2013.
Hozier is giving away his excellent Take Me To Church four-tracker, which has already found favour with The Gay Men’s Chorus Of Los Angeles by dint of its opposition to institutionalised Russian homophobia. There’s also a December 8 gig in Dublin’s Pepper Canister Church to look forward to.

Having run into censorial difficulties, the video for Bitter Rocc’s Chris Haze-assisted ‘Fallin’’ is back online and looking rather damn nifty.
“Somebody flagged it for being too violent and glorifying drug and gun use, which isn’t my style and something I would never condone,” Bitter tells Hot Press. “It's a representation of bad situations young people are getting themselves into in working class estates around Dublin. YouTube took down the video, I fought the good fight and they approved that it could be re-uploaded.”
Martina Topley-Bird, Mark Lanegan and Warpaint have joined forces – rather beautifully it has to be said – to cover The xx’s ‘Crystalised’.
Cop an eyeful of the video here and download the track, which is credited to ‘The Art Department Presents’, from iTunes.
Google Play have assembled a five-part Audio Ammunition – the title comes courtesy of a lyric from ‘This Is Radio Clash’ –documentary to celebrate the digital release of five of The Clash’s classic albums.
