Benjamin Power of the electronic duo spoke with Hot Press' Ed Power on the group's ascent ahead of their performance at Forbidden Fruit
Fuck Buttons received an unexpected introduction into the mainstream's consciousness in 2012 when their music was included in the opening ceremony for the London Olympics. Despite knowing that 26.9 million people in the UK alone were exposed to their sound, Power saw the event as an equal opportunity for a break as well as a career defining moment.
"It was an amazing thing to be asked to do. At the time we were mostly focused on our most recent album. We were really deep into the writing of it- the Olympics was, above all, a fantastic excuse to take a breather."
Building on 2012's success the duo released Slow Focus in 2013 and took to Glastonbury, where they found they found themselves sharing a competing time slot with Rock legends.

"We were up against the Rolling Stones, which is just ridiculous when you think about it. I mean they're probably the biggest band of all time that's still a touring entity. Obviously we assumed nobody would show up. As it happened we attracted 3,000people which was fantastic. For me, it was extra weird as i've never been to Glastonbury. My first experience of the festival was headlining a stage- that's an odd one, isn't it?"
