The Belgian band from Ghent is centred around brothers David and Stephen Dewaele.
The Dewaele brothers have shared the Soulwax remix of Fontaines D.C.'s track 'A Heroes Death' from the Dublin post-punk band's second album.
The original song is the title track from the Fontaines D.C.'s Grammy Award-nominated sophomore album, which was released back in July.
“Whatever the part of the brain is that sparks the idea for a remix when you hear a great song, even though it doesn’t always work, it was definitely fully functional when we heard ‘A Hero’s Death’,” Soulwax said about the original track.
Soulwax are also releasing a limited run of hand-stamped vinyl of their ‘A Hero’s Death’ remix, which can be pre-ordered here.
The funk duo recently released the single ‘Empty Dancefloor’ - written in response to nightclubs and music venues across the world being forced to close their doors due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

They were first noticed after the release of their album Much Against Everyone's Advice, but the Dewaeles then started focusing on their other projects - such as 2manydjs. In 2020, Soulwax released Deewee Sessions, Vol. 01, named after their 2017 album From Deewee.
Fontaines D.C. are currently at work on the follow-up to A Hero’s Death, with their debut Dogrel unleashing them onto the world stage back in April 2019.
