Future Islands and "a full line-up of special guests" will play at Donnybrook stadium, Dublin next June.
Following their spellbinding sold out summer show at Iveagh Gardens, Future Islands announce their return to the city with a headline show at Donnybrook stadium.
Future Islands first performed in Ireland in June 2009 opening for their friend and fellow Baltimore native Dan at Andrew’s Lane Theatre. They returned in September that year for their first ever Irish headline show Upstairs at Whelan’s performing to approximately 17 people. Those 17 people witnessed a phenomenal, emotional, redemptive performance and word spread so much so that when they returned in 2010 to play The Workman’s Club and 2012 to play Whelan’s, they sold out those shows in advance.
By the time, Future Islands were confirmed for two nights at Vicar Street in 2014 they were fast becoming global stars with the success of the Singles album and the impact of those unique incomparable live performances. Earlier this year, they quickly sold out their biggest Irish show to 4,000 people at the Iveagh Gardens in Dublin. Next year, they will outdo themselves again in a country where they very much feel a special connection and appreciation for what they do and the passion with which they deliver it.
