Galway singer-songwriter Maija Sofia has released her latest single ‘Telling the Bees’, with the accompanying video directed by Anna Heisterkamp.
The ethereal and folky number tells the story of Rita of Cascia, a nun from 14th century Italy who was canonised as the patron saint of domestic abuse and impossible causes.
‘Telling the Bees’ is the latest release from Sofia's upcoming album True Love which is set for release on September 1. To mark the release of her new full-length project, she has announced a headline show at Whelans in Dublin on September 28.
Her debut album Bath Time, released in 2019, introduced her as an accomplished songwriter. The record gained widespread critical acclaim as well as an Album of the Year nomination at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize.
